Doctor's Biography:
Dr. Gonzalez was born in Rochester, New York. He received a medical degree in Asuncion, Paraguay, and completed an internal medicine residency and a cardiology fellowship at Tulane University, followed by a cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at the University of Miami. A specialist in cardiac electrophysiology, Dr. Gonzalez is trained to perform interventional cardiac electrophysiology studies (EPS) as well as surgical device implantations. An EPS is performed to assess complex arrhythmias, tachycardias, fainting spells, evaluate abnormal electrocardiograms, assess the risk of developing arrhythmias in the future, and design treatments for those abnormal heart rhythms. Other therapeutic modalities employed in this field include antiarrhythmic drug therapies and implantation of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators. Board certified in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology, Dr. Gonzalez has maintained private practice in Electrophysiology and Cardiovascular diseases since 1995 in the Miami area. He is a former Medical Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute and Chief of Electrophysiology at HCA Florida Mercy Hospital. Dr. Gonzalez has hospital privileges at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in West Miami and Palmetto Hospital. He is fluent in Spanish, English, German, and Guarani.

My primary physician recommended to see Dr. Gonzalez for an evaluation. There was a minimal 20 minutes wait from appointment time. The front desk staff was friendly and pleasant. Once in medical examining room Marisol, Medical Assistant took my blood pressure and did an EKG.
Dr. Gonzalez, is very professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and thorough. He takes his time to answer all my questions, concerns and explained a plan of treatment in detail.

We met in an emergency ward when I went in for a massive cardiac. He tried to convince me to get a pacemaker, I rejected it. We talked for awhile, he convinced me. without him it would be the tenth anniversary of my burial.
